Slimming World Syn Free Meatza

Syn Free Meatzza

I think I’ve recently established that I love pizza, as does the rest of the Slimming World community. The huge reaction I had to the HexB pizza recipe I posted recently just shows how much us Slimming World-ers appreciate being able to eat proper food with no guilt whatsoever!

So recently, when I saw the word ‘meatzza’ flying around the internet I decided to look into it…after all the word itself is a combination of two of my favourite things! Turns out the idea is to make a pizza, but essentially with a big flat burger as the base instead of dough. Awesome right?!

Here’s the recipe for the sauce to top the Meatzza – Syn Free Pizza Sauce

Ingredients

For the base500g 5% Fat Mince (Beef or Pork)
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/2tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1tbsp Mixed Herbs
  • 1/2 Raw Peeled Grated Potato
  • For the sauceSee 'Syn Free Pizza Sauce' recipe
For the toppings80g Grated Mozzarella Cheese (2x HexA allowance)
  • 1 Red Pepper (thinly sliced)
  • Handful Sliced Mushrooms
  • Handful Sweetcorn (frozen or tinned)

Instructions

  1. Mix all of the ingredients for the base together in a mixing bowl using your hands to incorporate everything together.
  2. Spray a cake tin (preferably a spring form one) with Fry Light and tip your mince into it. Using your hands flatten the mince all the way to the edges of the cake tin, so that you have a flat, round disc of mince.
  3. Make the 'Syn Free Pizza Sauce' as per instructions in the recipe.
  4. Top the raw mince base with a few table spoons of the sauce, and spread it almost to the edges.
  5. Sprinkle on most of the mozzarella and then top with slices of red pepper, mushrooms and sweetcorn. Sprinkle over the rest of the mozzarella.
  6. Bake for 25 minutes. Once cooked through remove from the cake tin (this is why it's best to use a spring form one!) and let rest for a couple of minutes to make it easier to cut through.
  7. Cut the meatzza into slices and divide between two. Serve with chips!

Notes

Syn free using your HexA on Slimming World. This is not a tweak as it is being consumed as part of a healthy, balanced meal.

Looking for something to help you along your Slimming World journey? I genuinely couldn’t be without my Instant Pot! I know it’s not the cheapest of products, but as it’s a slow cooker, pressure cooker, soup maker all in one, not to mention that you can sauté, make yoghurt, pasteurise milk (if you ever needed too) and about a thousand other functions it’s well worth the money! If you buy one thing to help you on your journey this month, make it this!

I've never heard of a meatzza before but what a great idea. My kids love both burgers and pizza so I'm pretty sure this would be a winner with them. Thanks for linking up to #CookBlogShare x

That's great to hear Mandy! I'm sure you could sneak some hidden veg in there too, I was thinking of putting cherry tomatoes and spinach in my base next time! x

Just made this & it was lush!! Easily serves 4 if you serve with SW chips/wedges or a side salad. Hopefully it's just as nice for my lunch tomorrow :D! For me personally I'd only use 1 teaspoon rather than tablespoon of mixed herb (not a huge fan of it), also I made a BBQ sauce (I found a free syn one on another forum, as I don't like tomato base pizzas) I think I'd mix a bit in with the meat as well as putting it on top, obviously not too much as it wouldn't stay combined but just enough to mix extra flavour in & stop it from being bland (as I wouldn't be using the whole amount of mixed herbs). P.S I've bookedmarked your page as my mum & I went through you're recipes & they'res some lovely looking ones we'd like to try :) x
