Don’t be fooled by its appearance, this Chicken Wrap Fakeaway really is a lighter alternative to a McDonald’s or KFC chicken wrap and the best part is that it tastes a million times better too! With crispy coated, slightly spicy, chicken, melted cheese and a lightly toasted wrap, there are so many flavours, textures and surprises in this recipe that you’ll be adding it to your weekly meal plan straight away.
Low Syn Crispy Chicken Wrap Fakeaway on Slimming World
Of course, this recipe makes a great Fakeaway choice no matter what kind of healthy eating plan you’re on, but it is a particularly great choice if you’re following Slimming World. Not only will it help you avoid the MASSIVELY HIGH syn value of a McDonald’s or KFC takeaway, but it’s also a really delicious choice in its own right.
Did you know that a Crispy Garlic Mayo Chicken Wrap is a whopping 24 syns on Slimming World? You can find all of the McDonald’s syn values here, but if that is enough to put you off then this Low Syn Crispy Chicken Wrap Fakeaway makes a brilliant replacement.
I mean…just look at that super crispy chicken! You would never know that it’s not deep fried and unhealthy would you? In fact, this whole wrap is just 3 syns on Slimming World! Not bad for something that makes you feel like you’ve just eaten the naughtiest fast food! It even gives you plenty of syns to work with if you want to add your own sauces.
This Low Syn Crispy Chicken Wrap Fakeaway is made using crushed up Tortilla Chips, which might sound odd but works really well. I don’t even like tortilla chips (it’s a texture thing) but through testing this recipe I found they worked so well to get that really crunchy texture.
I’ve used lightly salted ones and added my own flavours, but you could test this out with BBQ or even chili tortilla crisps. Just make sure you check the specific syn values for the crisps you use. As a general rule most brands are 6 syns for 25g, and you use half of that for this recipe – making it just six syns.
The wrap in this recipe is a Weight Watcher’s Tortilla Wrap, which can be counted as your Healthy Extra B and the cheese is of course counted as one portion of your Healthy Extra A on Slimming World. Using ‘light’ cheese slices means you get more cheese, but if you don’t have any to hand you could always use up both Healthy Extras and treat yourself to two slices of full fat cheese.

Step by Step Instructions
You don’t need any fancy cooking techniques or ingredients to make this family friendly Slimming World recipe! I’ve specified the ingredients to make a single portion, as it’s a particularly great lunch option, but if you are cooking for more then you simply need to increase the quantities you’re using.
You can find the recipe down at the end of this post, but here are the step by step instructions to make yourself a delicious, crunchy, Low Syn Crispy Chicken Wrap Fakeaway!
Step One
Blitz 15g of Lightly Salted Tortilla Chips in a food processor or by hand until you have a semi-fine powder with a few larger chunks mixed throughout.
Step Two
Combine the crushed tortilla chips with dried parsley, hot chili powder, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, cumin and salt.
Step Three
Slice a chicken breast into chunky strips.
Whisk an egg in a separate bowl and spray a baking tray with low calorie cooking spray.
Step Four
Dip each piece of chicken first into the whisked egg and then into the crushed tortilla mix, making sure to cover each piece completely with tortilla chips.
Place each piece on the baking tray and bake for 25 minutes, or until crispy and cooked all the way through.
You will know that they are cooked when they come off the bottom of the pan without leaving behind their coating and the underside of each piece has a good colour to it.
Step Five
Layer salad, chicken and cheese on top of your wrap and close each side to form the wrap.
Step Six
Press the wrap in a panini press or place back in the oven with a heat resistant dish pressing down over the top and allow the cheese to melt as the wrap toasts.
Step Seven
Slice and serve your Low Syn Crispy Chicken Wrap whilst hot and melted!

Ingredients
- 1x Weight Watchers Wrap

Please pick a cheese that can be used as your Healthy Extra A choice on Slimming World. I have not specified which brand as there are a number of viable options including 'President Emmental', 'Leerdammer' and 'Tesco Processed Cheese Slices'.
