This syn free dish is the answer to all of your winter food prayers, especially if you’re on Slimming World! With seasonal flavours it’s super warming, not to mention loaded with cheese and bacon…what more could you want? I came up with this dish when I looked in the fridge and realised that I had singularly failed on the food shop and subsequently had no food to take into work the next day! There was a lonely packet of leeks, half a packet of bacon, a few other bits and bobs and of course cheese (I may fail to shop but I am never without cheese!). I’m getting really in to soup at the moment, it’s great for winter and you can make so many delicious low syn varieties for Slimming World! It’s also great for meal prepping as you’re assured to have days worth of healthy lunches in the freezer to take to work! My other half is also getting very into soup, after all it gets cold on building sites at this time of year and it’s always nice to have a warm lunch to take away that chill, proving that soup isn’t just great for slimmers! Sushi is without a doubt my favourite food! I adore it and consequently spend a ridiculous amount of money on it every month. I also pretend to myself that sushi from my favourite high street restaurants (naming no names) is a lot healthier than it is. The reality however is that proper sushi can be very high in sugar and therefore very high in sys, as well as very unfriendly on your pocket! For a long time I’ve been telling myself that I was going to start making my own sushi at home, but frankly I’m a bit crap at rolling it with the bamboo mat and so I had kind of given up….until I discovered the Sushi Bazooka! As you can see from the video and recipe below, it’s basically the world’s most useful gadget for sushi lovers and helped me knock this perfect sushi out in next to no time at all! Continue Reading…
