My little boy is due in February 2019 but I’ve known for a long time that my preference in baby clothes is very much skewed towards the gender neutral and whether I had been expecting a little girl or my little boy, I would have still done a fair amount of shopping with brands that stock unisex baby clothes! With that in mind, I’ve already begun scoping out and shopping with some of the best gender neutral baby brands on the market and I’m putting together this roundup for other mums and dads who love the variety of styles and colours these brands deliver.  Continue Reading…

Syn Free Creamy Cheese and Bacon Pasta

Syn Free - Creamy - Cheese and Bacon Pasta - slimming world - recipe

Sometimes you just need a cheesy carb fix, right?!? I know I do anyway…particularly since I started growing a little human inside me. Sometimes only carbs will do, and whilst 90% of the time I spend my time focusing on healthy carbs, a cheesy bowl of pasta really can’t be beaten when it’s cold outside. However, as much as I might want to indulge my cravings, I also want to stick to a meal that fits within my daily Slimming World plan. That’s where food like this Syn Free Creamy Cheese and Bacon Pasta comes in!  Continue Reading…

Slimming World SYN UPDATES (September 2018)

slimming world syn update - muller lights - free food - food optimising

The last few days have been somewhat turbulent for those following Slimming World, with the news that Slimming World has released a number of new updates affecting syn values. Whether you agree with their decisions or believe like many that there may be an ulterior motive behind some of them, it’s still important to update yourself so that you can make the best decisions for yourself. What’s more, it’s not all bad news in the update as they have expanded their free food lists somewhat and added a number of vegan options, making food optimising easier for people following a meat/dairy free lifestyle. This Slimming World syn update has come as a shock for many, with the news about Muller Lights now being a synned food capturing headlines…but here are all of the details of this latest update from SW HQ. 15 Healthy Soup Recipes To Get You Through The Winter

It’s an unpopular opinion I know, but I LOVE cooler weather and the winter months. To me they bring snuggly clothes, hot food, Halloween and most importantly, Christmas! One of my favourite things about winter though is that people no longer look at you funny for eating soup. Personally, I don’t think soup should be a ‘cold month only’ dish, but for many people it is! With that in mind, I’ve rounded up some of my favourite and most delicious looking healthy soup recipes to get you through the cold months and help you keep strong on your health journey too! I’ve included a wide variety of recipes from other amazing bloggers, and a couple of my own, so feel free to let me know what your favourites are in the comments below.  Continue Reading…

Best Free Pregnancy Tracker and Parenting Apps

pregnancy tracker - apps - parenting - pregnancy

Pregnancy can be a stressful and uncertain time, particularly if you’re a first-time mum or don’t know that many people with children. I for one, turned into a neurotic mess the moment I found out that I was expecting, so finding support was crucial for me. One of my most important sources of support and information has come from the many and varied pregnancy tracker and parenting apps that I’ve downloaded, which give me daily, weekly and monthly info related to where I am in my pregnancy and what to expect in the weeks to come.  Continue Reading…

Easy Peasy Chicken Caprese Salad

This recipe for Chicken Caprese Salad is a new favourite of mine because it is seriously packed full of flavour and I can’t stand a bland salad. The basil, garlic, lemon and oil (or apple cider vinegar if you’re making the syn free version) all come together to really bring out the flavours in the fresh tomatoes and compliment the chicken perfectly. The whole recipe is then offset by the creamy mozzarella and pulled together by the salad leaves, making it all in all a total success.  Continue Reading…

Best Ever Low Syn Chicken Curry

Low Syn Chicken Curry - Slimming World - Healthy - Curry Recipe

When I was growing up, takeaway curries were a big family favourite. We’d order about a tonne of food and all dig in and share together. However, as I got older I found that takeaway curries really started to feel heavy and almost exhausting to eat. I still enjoyed one on occasion, but they most definitely became a treat as opposed to something I could enjoy all the time. I really started to miss them, particularly when I started on Slimming World until I realised that I could make incredibly delicious homemade curries without any of the guilt! This recipe for Low Syn Chicken Curry is a follow up to some of my previous curry recipes, and I can honestly say that it surpassed anything I’ve made in the past! Continue Reading…

Healthy Fishcake Scotch Egg - Slimming World Friendly - Iceland Foods - Syn Free - Healthy Extra B - Fish

I love a good hybrid dish – pizza bagels, cronuts etc… – and so when I was introduced to Fishcake Scotch Eggs at a recent Iceland event I attended I was blown away! Their deep fat fried ball of yumminess was a taste sensation, so I decided to put together my own healthy fishcake scotch egg recipe for all you lovely lot at home. The concept is simple, it’s a mix between a fishcake and a scotch egg (surprise surprise) and involves a super perfect egg wrapped in a tasty fish cake and coated in crispy breadcrumbs. Its the best of both world and it’s healthy and easy to make!  Continue Reading…
