If you’re anything like me, there are some days where you just need a big old carb fix! On days like that, it’s so tempting to overindulge in unhealthy, high syn foods, but with recipes like this Syn Free Chicken & Bacon Pasta Bake, you can have the best of both worlds.
It’s a comforting, family friendly meal that gives you all of the cheesy, bacony goodness that you’re craving but doesn’t ruin your healthy eating plan. Simply dish yourself up a serving and pair it with freshly steamed veggies or a tasty fresh side salad.
Slimming World Chicken & Bacon Pasta Bake
Pasta bake is a great choice if you’re following Slimming World, and this syn free chicken & bacon version is no exception! As the name suggests, it’s totally syn free. Simply count the cheese as one of your two Healthy Extra A portions. To ensure that this recipe is totally syn free you have to make sure that all of the fat is trimmed from the bacon you use!
Syn Free Chicken & Bacon Pasta Bake – Step by Step Instructions
You can whip up this simple Slimming World pasta bake in just 45 minutes, including all of the prep and final bake, so it’s the perfect recipe to make when you want a meal that the whole family can tuck into. Here are the step by step instructions and photos to help you put this together yourself.

Fry the onions and garlic over low heat until they’ve become translucent and soft.
Cook the pasta as per packet instructions.
Preheat your oven to 180 degrees.
Add the chicken and bacon and fry until the chicken is cooked through.
Remove the cooked chicken, bacon and onions from the pan and set aside.
In the same pan add the chicken stock, chopped tomatoes, tomato puree, dried herbs, fresh parsley, garlic powder, salt and pepper and fry until the tomatoes begin to reduce into a sauce.
Add the passata and bring to the boil.
Reduce the heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
Add the chicken and bacon back into the sauce and stir together.
Add the pasta and tip out into a deep baking tray.
Top the pasta mix with grated cheddar and Red Leicester cheese and bake in the oven until golden brown.

- 3x Large Chicken Breasts
- 6x Lean Bacon Pieces (all visible fat removed)
- 1x White Onion (diced)
- 2x Garlic Cloves (minced)
- 8x Large Tomatoes (diced)
- 400g Passata
- 1 Cup Chicken Stock
- Handful Fresh Parsley
- 2tsp Dried Oregano
- 1tsp Dried Thyme
- 1tsp Salt
- 1/2tsp Pepper
- 1/2tsp Garlic Powder
- 1tbsp Tomato Puree
- 250g Pasta of your choice
- 180g Grated Cheddar Cheese/Red Leicester (or a mix of both)
