Sneak Peak: Iceland’s New Range

Iceland's New Range

Growing up I don’t think I was very aware of Iceland (the shop, not the country…my geography isn’t that bad!). From the little I knew it only sold frozen food, and not good frozen food at that! Well, now that I’m all grown up I’m not ashamed to admit that I couldn’t have been more wrong! Iceland has continued to surprise me at every turn, first with their range of Slimming World meals and then with everything else they offer. How Slimming World Works

Over the course of this post I’m going to set out how Slimming World works for you so that you have everything you need to start losing weight in a healthy, happy and sustainable way! Before I get started I obviously want to stress that I’m not an official Slimming World consultant, however I have been doing this now for almost two years and like to think I know my way around the plan pretty well. I was really thrilled to sit through the  new member talk at my Slimming World group last night, as it has given me a whole new determination, and I therefore wanted to help anyone who doesn’t have the luxury of going to group, or maybe just needs a refresher from time to time, have that same feeling! This article is set out in the following sections:

  • The Basics
  • Free Foods, including:
    • Speed Foods
    • ‘P’ Foods
  • Healthy Extras
  • Syns
  • Easy Extra SP

I really  hope that this guide to Slimming World is helpful for you but if you have any queries just ask in the comments below! You can of course always contact Slimming World too for any queries and there is a wonderful online Slimming World community who are always happy to help! How To Deal With Post Christmas Guilt

Christmas is my favourite time of the year and this year has been just as wonderful as every, however no that I’m on my Slimming World journey it does bring with it another layer which in Christmases past I would never have even considered. After all of the festivities are over it will be time to face the inevitable wave of guilt that comes with having not been on plan for a good few days. If you’re like me and took the Christmas period as a break from weight loss then you’ll understand what I mean, and although I have absolutely not let it dampen my good time it has most definitely been in the back of my mind over the recent days. Obviously if you are one of the highly commendable people who managed to actually stay on plan over Christmas then this post will not be quite as relevant, although I’m hopefully going to set out a few ways which are useful to deal with weight gain guilt in general, not just for Christmas!

For Anyone That Feels Like Quitting…

Please don’t! Here’s why, how, and what to do if you have…

We all have them don’t we? Those days where it all seems too much and we just want to say f**k it and throw in the proverbial towel. If you don’t you’re a very lucky (and slightly odd) person, and I seriously envy you! I’m talking about those days where losing weight just feels like a never ending journey requiring far too much effort for far too little reward. Given that losing weight has unquantifiable benefits, from a physical and mental health point of view, that might seem stupid, but sometimes it’s just hard for those huge benefits to out-way quite how exhausting losing weight can be. Seven Reasons You Might Not Be Losing Weight

Do you ever have one of those weeks where you feel that you’ve done everything perfectly, but the number on the scales just isn’t budging? Well, I have and it’s incredibly frustrating. I am not a Slimming World consultant, and I have not been trained by Slimming World, but I’ve been doing this for over a year now and in that time I’ve gained a pretty good insight (from my own struggles and from those around me) into the things which could be stopping the weight from shifting.

Hopefully this might help identify some things you could adjust or change. I will stress though that the plan works differently for everyone, and there’s no hard and fast rule for how fast you should lose weight on Slimming World! It’s easy to get disheartened when you see other people with big losses, but just remember that the most important thing is that you’ve taken control of your weight problems, and you’re doing something about them! Never let anyone make you feel bad for the rate at which you’re losing weight, and NEVER EVER give up because you feel it’s not shifting fast enough. Nobody ever said that losing weight was easy, if it was everyone in this world would be slim. It’s a hard journey, but with the right tools and support it’s one that you will absolutely get to the end of. As I say, these are just some observations, and generally accepted principles, that might make a bit of difference to your weight loss, and the first one might surprise you!  Continue Reading…
