Not only are these Healthy Meal Prep Chocolate & Banana Breakfast Bars a super healthy breakfast in their own right, they’re also totally Slimming World friendly! You’d never guess it though with how much of a chocolate fix they give you.
Each bar is just 2 syns plus half of your Healthy Extra B for the day! Not a half bad for something that tastes like chocolate cake…
The syn values work out as follows:

- 90g Medjool Dates – 2x HexB
- 250g Banana – 7.5syns

Making Healthy Meal Prep Chocolate & Banana Breakfast Bars – Step by Step Instructions
You can scroll down to find the ingredients list and printable recipe at the end of this post, but here are the step by step instructions and pictures to help make these super simple meal prepped breakfast bars even more simple!
Step One
Set aside 40g of your porridge oats to use in the chocolate layer.
In a blender, blitz half of the remaining oats until they form a fine flour.
Step Two
Add the rest of the oats along with 200g of banana, honey and the cinnamon.
Blend until they form a thick, sticky paste.
Step Three
Coat a rectangular cake tin (see information above) with half a teaspoon of your cocoa powder to prevent sticking.
Step Four
Tip out your banana and oat mix into the baking tin and press it out evenly with a spatula until it covers the whole tin and is evenly spread.
Step Five
Combine the dates, cocoa powder, remaining banana and the rest of the oats and blend until smooth.
Step Six
Tip out the chocolate mix onto the banana layer in your cake tin and carefully spread it using your spatula.
Make sure to do this gently so as not to lift the base layer off. The two layers will fuse as you press and during baking.
Step Seven
Bake at 180 degrees for 20 minutes.
Remove from the oven and leave to cool. They will still be soft and slightly sticky but should lift away from the sides and base of the tin once cooled.
Step Eight
Slice into 12 bars and refrigerate until you want them. Can be frozen – defrost completely before eating.
