Syn Free Pulled Pork Mac & Cheese

This Syn Free Pulled Pork Mac & Cheese is a really simple, one pot recipe that everyone will enjoy! Super creamy and cheesy and with a slightly tangy kick from the BBQ sauce on the pulled pork, it really is a crowd pleaser. You don’t need any fancy ingredients, just milk, cheese, cornflour, macaroni and a few key spices…and of course the Syn Free BBQ Pulled Pork too!
A Simple, Syn Free Dinner Recipe
If you’re on the hunt for a dinner recipe that you and your family will love, that won’t add to your syn count for the day, then look no further! Using one of your Healthy Extra A portions for the day, this recipe is syn free.
It serves six people, so although there is one tiny little syn from the cornflour, it works out at less than a quarter of a syn per portion and therefore can be counted as syn free!
Making Syn Free Pulled Pork Mac & Cheese – Step by Step Instructions

Step One
Cook your Macaroni Pasta as per packet instructions.
Step Two
Meanwhile, measure out your milk and then combine a splash with your cornflour. Add this to a pan along with the rest of the milk.
Step Three
Add the cheese and spices to the milk and bring to the boil. Reduce the heat and simmer until the cheese is stirred and the milk begins to thicken up.
Step Four
Add two to three portions of your Syn Free BBQ Pulled Pork to the cheese sauce and combine.
Step Five
Combine the cooked macaroni pasta with the cheesy pulled pork sauce and the rest of the cheese. Bring the pan to the boil and stir through until the cheese has melted. Remove from the heat.
Step Six
Garnish with a sprinkling of paprika and some fresh parsley! Serve up with a side of fresh veggies or salad for extra speed food if desired.

Ingredients
- 2-3 Portions of Syn Free BBQ Pulled Pork
- 300g Macaroni Pasta
- 1tsp Paprika
- 1/2tsp Hot Chilli Powder
- 1/2tsp Mustard Powder
- 1/2tsp Salt
- 2tsp Cornflour
- 500mls Semi Skimmed Milk (2xHexA)
- 160g Reduced Fat Cheddar Cheese (4xHexA)
Instructions
- Cook your Macaroni Pasta as per packet instructions.
- Meanwhile, measure out your milk and then combine a splash with your cornflour.
- In a large, deep saucepan or crock pot, add the cornflour along with the rest of the milk.
- Add half of the cheese and all of the seasoning/spices to the milk and bring to the boil. Reduce the heat and simmer until the cheese is stirred and the milk begins to thicken up.
- Add two to three portions of your Syn Free BBQ Pulled Pork to the cheese sauce and combine.
- Combine the cooked macaroni pasta with the cheesy pulled pork sauce and the rest of the cheese.
- Bring the pan to the boil and stir through until the cheese has melted.
- Remove from the heat.
- Garnish with a sprinkling of paprika and some fresh parsley! Serve up with a side of fresh veggies or salad for extra speed food if desired.

Syn free on Slimming World.
The full mixture does contain 1 syn for the cornflour, however when divided between six the syns are negligible and can be counted as syn free.
